10-06-2017: An oral presentation (link to the abstract book: https://www.isbnpa.org/index.php?r=article/view&id=70) has been given by Samera Qureshi within the symposium S39: “Health promotion in socially disadvantaged populations: an eye on their needs“ for the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) 2017, Annual Meeting in Victoria, Canada, June 7-10. (link to website: www.isbnpa.org). The symposium aimed to: 1) Highlight the specific needs of socially disadvantaged populations; 2) Compare the different approaches that can be used to achieve positive health outcomes relevant to the prevention of overweight and T2D in these populations, and 3) Provoke discussion about the different approaches and explore which approach might be the most successful, sustainable and sensitive to the needs of these populations.
